3D Underwater Scene
In this tutorial we’re going to create an underwater scene in 3ds Max. We’re going to create a deep blue sea with light rays and bubbles. Creating convincing underwater scene is a challenging task and I’m not even trying to create a physically accurate simulation. Rather I’m using my artistic freedom to neglect some real world rules to get the look and feel I’m going for
Bokeh Effect in 3ds Max
In this tutorial we’re going to create a bokeh effect in 3ds Max. The term bokeh is familiar from photography. When depth of field is shallow, part of the photo is blurred. Bokeh refers to that blur or the quality of it. There are a few different methods of creating shallow depth of field in 3ds Max, but this time we concentrate on the ‘Depth of Field / Bokeh’ camera shader which is a new feature in 3ds Max 2011. The Bokeh shader gives us nice tools to control the quality and the look of the out of focus areas.
After Effects - Auto-Creating Compositions
When working in Adobe's After Effects, you can get footage from just about anywhere, and in most cases, you don't have the time to figure out what the client gave you, as in most cases, they don't even know. This quick tip will show you how to match your composition to a clip in your project to get you animating in no time flat.
Particle World Transitions: Part 2
Rob Mize further develops the techniques demonstrated in Part 1 of this tutorial. He applies the Particle World Text to Sand effect to 3D text created using the Shatter Effect, and composites that onto a background. He then reverses the effect, changing sand into an onscreen character who finally, blows away as dust in the wind.
Ipod Commercial Lighting Streaks
In this tutorial we will create lighting streaks like you have seen in the latest commercial of Apple Ipod Nano. To accomplish the project we will you a third party plug-in called Trapcode Particular. This is a wonderful plug-in for After Effects which generates particles and help in creating various effects.

Compositing: The Perfect Integration After Effects Tutorial
In this comprehensive tutorial, author Hugo Tromp will take you through the whole workflow of integrating computer generated three dimensional animation with real life footage. This tutorial covers a wide range of subjects such as motion tracking, footage processing, Maya techniques for compositing, 3D in Nuke and color correction. The first day of the tutorial covers the process of preparing footage for motion tracking and doing the motion tracking itself. Hugo will also explain the workflow of a visual effects shot. Enjoy!

Abstract Bokeh Background 3ds max tutorial
In this tutorial we’re going to create an abstract background image in 3ds Max. It seems that bokeh backgrounds have been extremely popular during the last few years so we’re going to create one as well. There are many Photoshop tutorials available, but here I’m going to show you how to create bokeh background in 3ds Max. I think 3ds Max is perfect for creating abstract backgrounds because of it’s parametric nature. It’s really easy to change everything with parameters. I’m using 3ds Max 2011, but many older versions should work as well.

Creating A Nuclear Explosion In 3ds Max And After Effects
In today’s tutorial, regular author and contributor Chandan Kumar will show us a simple, yet effective technique for creating a nuclear explosion inside of
3D Studio Max,
using Particle Flow. Once the effect is created, Chandan will then move intoAfter Effects
where he’ll show how to composite the explosion into live action footage. This tutorial demonstrates how quickly a complex looking effect can be achieved in a short amount of time, without the use of additional plugins. This is a great tutorial for anyone interested in creatingvisual effects
shots. Let’s take a look!View Source
